Had the chance to meet miss Jeanie yesterday for her first walk with me! She’s a rescue girl from Mexico with some quirks and some big feelings around new people, other dogs, and a few other things. For her first walk, she did so well, and her lovely owners are hoping to get some training started with her in the future. Dory and her lovely mom had her first session with me today and she is a classic Golden Retriever. She LOVES people so much and is such a sweet girl. Dory is very motivated to please but needs some direction on how to appropriately handle her excitement in certain situations. I’m already in love with her😍 #goldenretriever #dogtraining #abbotsfordbc #dogtrainer Miss Lacey had her second lesson with me today and she is too cute. She’s a sweet little Cavapoo pup (even if she looks like a black dot here😂) and is a quick learner! Excited to watch her grow and I love watching her and her lovely mom work together on her puppy basics🤗 Miss Laynie, rocking her new Roaming Paw bandana. This snaggletooth of a pup is a young, sweet girl, that is making progress with her overall obedience, impulse control, and learning how to coexist nicely with her canine housemates. Indy!😍 This adorable young man is full of brains and energy. His mom has done such a great job with his early training already and he’s learning his foundational skills. Welcome to TRP, Trigger! This sweet 1 year old Border Collie X is already a very good boy whose motto definitely seems to be “will do anything for treats” 🤣 One of my FAVOURITE ways to enrich my dog’s day is by reusing our recycling by adding treats into it! Enrichment is so important for your dog’s mental health. In this case, by using the nose, paws, brain, and teeth, natural instincts such as scavenging, sniffing, ripping, and problem solving are being utilized. A dog’s nose is their bread and butter. The Robin to their Batman, the bacon to their eggs, the salt to their pepper. With up to 300 million scent receptors (compared to our measly 6 million), it’s no wonder their sense of smell blows ours out of the water. Welcome to The Roaming Paw, Linkin!
